Detaching
–  Separate the rear section of the cardan shaft:
t  Propshaft, Altea XL 2009 ►, Altea XL Freetrack 2008 ►, Altea XL Freetrack 2009 ► → Chapter.
t  Alhambra 2011 ► → Chapter.
   
–  Secure the vehicle with support tool -T10038- on the lifting platform.
  WARNING
If the vehicle is not strapped down, there is a great danger that the vehicle will slip off the lifting platform!
  N42-10114
–  Unscrew hexagon nut for propshaft flange.
A - Hexagonal bolts M10 x 25.
B - Hexagon socket bolt M8 x 15 (screwed from back side into counterhold -3415-).
  WARNING
This flange is positioned relative to the toothed shaft.

–  Mark the flange with respect to the toothed shaft before removing in order to avoid subsequent vibrations in the cardan shaft.

–  Pull off propshaft flange. If this continues, use the extractor 3p -KUKKO 12/1-.

–  Drive out the seal using the extractor set -VW 681-.
