Bosch 8.0 from model year 2005 > < Anti-lock brake system ABS) - General Instructions
ABS Bosch 5.7
ABS Bosch 5.7
In vehicles with ABS Bosch 5.7, the following combinations are possible:
t  ABS/MSR
t  ABS/MSR/EDS/ASR (with traction control system)
t  ABS/MSR/EDS/ASR/ESP (electronic stability program)
The ABS brake system is divided diagonally. The vacuum servo brake pneumatically increases the braking force.
  Note
Faults in the ABS system do not affect the brake system or the brake servo. Without ABS, the conventional brake system also continues to function. You must consider that the brakes will respond differently. When the ABS indicator is lit, using the brakes could cause the rear wheels to lock up before expected.

Arrangement of the ABS in left-hand drive vehicles:
1 - Hydraulic unit and control unit
2 - Brake servo:
  N45-0275
Arrangement of the ABS in right-hand drive vehicles:
1 - Brake servo:
2 - Hydraulic unit and control unit
  N45-0276
The hydraulic unit -2- and the control unit -1- form a single unit. These two elements can only be separated once they have been removed. The hydraulic pump -4- cannot be separated from the hydraulic unit (-3-brake pressure sender -1- -G201-).
Vehicles with ABS BOSCH 5.7 do not have a mechanical braking force regulator. The regulation of the mechanical breaking force in the rear axle is controlled by special software in the control unit, braking force regulator distribution (EBV).
New control units supplied as replacement parts are not coded. Once fitted, they need to be coded → Vehicle diagnosis, testing and information system VAS 5051
