Central diagnosis system -VAS 505X -: connect and select functions
  Note
t  If there are memorised faults, the corresponding memories must not be deleted.
t  Reasons:
t  If the fault finding is subsequently carried out (repair) using the vehicle diagnostic, testing and information system -VAS 505X -via the function „Guided fault finding“, the equipment will re-read the event memory. The vehicle diagnostic, testing and information system -VAS 505X - can only generate one test plan for the „Guided fault finding“ if the malfunctions are still registered in the memory.
Consult the equivalence table for tools and equipment according to applicability between Seat / VW / Audi / Skoda → Chapter.
Special tools and workshop equipment required
   
t  Vehicle diagnostic, testing and information system -VAS 505X-
  WARNING
During the test drive, the testing and measuring equipment must always be fastened to the back seat.
When driving, only the passengers can handle this equipment, never the driver.
–  Handbrake applied.
–  Automatic gearbox: set the selector lever in the position „P“ or „N“.
–  Manual gearbox: gear lever at neutral.
With the engine off, connect the vehicle diagnostic, testing and information system -VAS 505X- as follows:
Leon 2006►

–  Remove the cover -1- under the steering column from the side -arrows-.
Altea 2004►, Altea XL 2007►, Altea XL Freetrack 2008► and Toledo 2005►
  E90-10015
–  Remove cover -1- located below steering column.
Continues for all models
  E90-10011
–  Connect the vehicle diagnostic, testing and information system -VAS 505X- with the correct cable enclosed with the equipment -arrow-.
–  Switch on ignition.
  Note
If no indications are displayed on the screen during these operations: → Vehicle diagnostic tester.
–  Press the pushbutton on the screen for guided fault finding.
–  Select successively:
t  Brand
t  Model
t  Model year
t  Version
t  Engine code
–  Confirm the vehicle identification by pressing .
Wait until the equipment has consulted all the possible control units available in the vehicle.
–  Press the key Go to and then Select Function/Component to select the function.
