ABS warning lamp -K47-
If, on switching on the ignition and ending the checking process, the ABS indicator -K47-, -1- does not go out, the causes could be the following:
t  The voltage supply is less than 10 volts.
t  There is an ABS fault.
If there is an ABS fault, the system will remain off while the conventional braking system will continue working correctly.
t  There is a sporadic fault in the revolution sensor since the last time the engine was started.
If there is a fault in the revolution sensor, the ABS indicator -K47- will automatically go out after restarting the vehicle and driving over 20 km/h.
t  Connection between the instrument panel and the ABS control unit -J104- has been interrupted → Current flow diagrams, Electrical fault finding and Fitting locations.
t  There is a fault in the instrument panel.
  E45-0030
ABS indicator -K47- and hand brake indicator -K14-
If the ABS indicator lamp -K47--1- goes out after switching on the ignition and after completing the test run and the hand brake indicator lamp -K14--2- remains on, the fault may be caused by one of the following:
t  The hand brake is on.
t  The brake fluid level is too low.
t  There is a cable fault → Current flow diagrams, Electrical fault finding and Fitting locations.
If the ABS indicator lamp -K47--1- and the handbrake indictor lamp -K14--2- are still illuminated, this could indicate a failure of the ABS and EBV (electronic brake force distribution).
  WARNING
If both the ABS indicator -K47- and the hand brake indicator -K14- have come on, the rear wheels could lock before time on braking.

Acceleration antiskid indicator -K86-
Only on vehicles equipped with ASR.
If, on switching on the ignition and ending the checking process, the traction slip control indicator lamp -K86-, -3- does not go out, the causes could be the following:
t  There is a short to the positive of the ASR/ESP button -E256- (the warning lamp turns off after approx. 5 minutes).
t  There is a fault in the activation of the acceleration slip regulation indicator -K86- → Current flow diagrams, Electrical fault finding and Fitting locations.
t  The ASR system has been switched off using the ASR/ESP button -E256-.
There is a fault which only affects the ASR. However, the ABS/EDS and EBV vehicle systems continue to work perfectly.
If the acceleration slip regulation indicator -K86- flashes while driving, this implies that the ASR system is in operation.
  E45-0030
Stability Program Indicator, ASR/ESP -K155-
If, after switching on the ignition and ending the checking process, the ASR/ESP stability program warning lamp -K155--3- does not go out, the causes could be the following:
t  There is a short to the positive of the ASR/ESP button -E256- (the warning lamp turns off after approx. 5 minutes).
t  There is a fault in the activation of the ASR/ESP stability program indicator -K155- → Current flow diagrams, Electrical fault finding and Fitting locations.
t  The ASR/ESP system has been switched off using the ASR/ESP button -E256-.
This is a fault that only affects the ASR/ESP safety system. However, the ABS/EDS and EBV vehicle systems continue to work perfectly. ⇒ Check fault memory.
If the ASR/ESP stability program indicator -K155- flashes while driving, this implies that the ASR or ESP system is in operation.
