Unscrew control unit from hydraulic unit
Unscrew control unit from hydraulic unit
t  When a control unit is defective, the hydraulic unit must be disconnected and only the control unit replaced.
t  When a control unit is defective, the hydraulic unit must be replaced with the control unit.

1 - Control unit
2 - Hydraulic unit
3 - Brake pressure sender
4 - Return flow pump
–  Place the hydraulic unit and the control unit on a flat, clean surface.

–  Remove the bolts -1…6- with a T20 Torx key following the order indicated.
  Note
The Torx socket head screws cannot be reused.
  WARNING
The ABS hydraulic pump -V64- cannot be separated from the ABS hydraulic unit -N55-.
–  Carefully remove the ABS hydraulic unit -N55- with the ABS hydraulic pump -V64- upwards from the ABS control unit -J104-.
When removing the control unit -b-, make sure that the valves -1- of the hydraulic unit -b- do not remain inclined with respect to the control unit solenoids -4-.

–  When removing the control unit -b-, make sure that the valve stems -1- of the hydraulic unit -a- do not remain hanging to the solenoids -4- of the control unit -b-.
Cover the solenoids of the ABS control unit -J104- with a lint-free cloth.
After separating the control unit from the hydraulic unit, cover the valves with the transport protection.
  Note
t  Check that the sealing surface of the hydraulic control unit is not dirty, if necessary, clean it with alcohol and paper or a lint-free cloth.
t  If there is a film of water or grease between the valves, remove it with compressed air that is free of oil or water, e.g. an aerosol.

t  Check that the hydraulic pump contact springs -1- are not burned or rusting. Machining is not permitted.
t  Only remove the plugs from the new hydraulic unit once the corresponding brake pipe is fitted.
t  If the plugs are removed from the control unit beforehand, brake fluid could flow out, for which the filling and bleeding of the system could not be guaranteed.
t  On assembling the control unit with the hydraulic unit, make sure that the hydraulic unit valves fit properly into the control unit solenoids.
