Brake system: air bleeding, vehicles with and without ABS |
Additional necessary documentation |
t
| Inca 2000 Workshop Manual►, Running gear, self-diagnosis for ABS |
Air bleeding the brake system is carried out with the-SAT 1150- aparatus for filling and bleeding the brake air system. |
Particularities of vehicles with ABS |
In the case that one of the brake fluid circulation deposit chambers is found to be completely empty (e.g. a leak had occured in the brake system), the bleeding of the hydraulic unit should be carried out from the function “basic setting” and with -VAS 5051-. |

Caution When filling with brake fluid with the brake bleeding and filling apparatus SAT 1150, care should be taken not to pass the filling pressure of 1 bar. |
|
For this reason the pressure of the brake fluid in the -SAT 1150- aparatus for filling and bleeding the brake air system should fall to 1 bar. → Workshop Manual SAT 1150. |
If filling pressure of 1 bar is passed, the correct bleeding of the hydraulic unit can not be guaranteed. |

Note! t
| Bleeding the air from the brake system in vehicles with ABS is carried out in the same as vehicles with conventional brake systems. |
t
| In vehicles without ABS with braking force regulator, the regulator lever has to be moved during the bleeding of the rear brake. |
t
| Only use new brake fluid which corresponds to USA standard: FMVSS 116 DOT 4, with part nº -B 000 700 A-. (indicate, on the place of the point, the size of the container). |
t
| Brake fluid is toxic. Further, due to its corrosive characteristics on paintwork, it should not come into contact with said paintwork. |
t
| Brake liquid is hygroscopic , this means that it takes in the humidity from the circulating air, and for this reason it should always be kept in sealed hermetic containers. |
t
| Clean any spilled brake fluid with large amounts of water. |
