Fault indication via the Dual curcuit brake/handbrake warning lamp -K7- and ABS warning lamp -K47-

Warning lamps

ABS warning lamp -K47-

t	If the ABS warning lamp -K47--2- does not go out after switching ignition on and completion of test sequence then the fault may be:

-a- Voltage supply is below 10 Volt.

-b- There is a fault in the ABS.

Caution

The anti-lock brake system remains switched off with an ABS fault -b-, but the brake system remains fully operational.

-c- Since the last time the vehicle was started there was a temporary speed sensor fault.

In this case the ABS warning lamp will go out automatically after the engine is restarted and the vehicle exceeds a speed of 20 km/h.

-d- The connection from dash panel insert to control unit for ABS -J104- is interrupted. → Current flow diagrams, Electrical fault finding and Fitting locations

ABS warning lamp -K47- and dual circuit brake/handbrake warning lamp -K7-.

t	If the ABS warning lamp -K47--2- goes out but the dual circuit brake/handbrake warning lamp -K7--1- lights up, the fault causes may be:

-a- The handbrake is applied.

-b- The brake fluid level is too low.

t	If the ABS warning lamp -K47--2- and the dual circuit brake/handbrake warning lamp -K7--1- light up, then the ABS system is defective. A change in braking behaviour is to be reckoned with.

Caution

After the ABS warning lamp -K47- and the dual circuit brake/handbrake warning lamp -K7- have lit up, the rear wheels may lock-up earlier on braking.
