General notes on this ABS
General notes on this ABS
The ABS brake system is divided diagonally. The vacuum servo brake neumatically increases the the braking force.
Vehicles with ABS ITT Mark 20 GI/IE and ITT Mark 30 IE do not have a mechanical braking force regulator. Specially designed software in the control unit regulates the braking force in the rear axle.
Faults in the ABS system do not affect the brake system or the brake servo. Without ABS, the conventional brake system continues to function.

The hydraulic unit -a- and the control unit -b- form a single unit. These two elements can only be separated once they have been removed.
New control units supplied as replacement parts are not coded. Once fitted, they need to be coded.
–  Coding the control unit (ABS ITT Mark 20 GI/IE): → VAS 5051.
–  Coding the control unit (ABS ITT Mark 30 IE): → VAS 5051.
