Instructions for repairing the external joint → Chapter.
–  Open the inner joint clamps and push the joint dust guard backwards.
–  Remove the joint housing from the complete half-shaft.
   
–  Remove the safety ring using pliers -VW 161 A- or normal pliers -1-.
–  Fit the half-shaft in the vice.

–  Remove the tripod from the complete half-shaft.
–  Remove the dust cover from the complete half shaft.
–  Clean the complete half-shaft, the housing of the joint and the groove.
