Installation
   
–  Tighten the bolts of the transversal directional bar -1-, the upper transversal swinging arm -2- and the lower transversal swinging arm -3-.
–  Fasten the link rod by hand -arrow- to the stub axle.

Do not tighten bolts securing trailing arm to wheel bearing housing until all other suspension components (especially spring and shock absorber) on that side are fitted. The wheel suspension must be in extended position before securing. The trailing arm and the wheel bearing housing will only then move into the required position -arrows-.
It is most important to follow the order shown when carrying out the following steps
  N42-10019
–  Fit the longitudinal arm and the clutch pedal bracket with the bolts -2- on the stub axle, but without tightening.

–  Fit and tighten bolts -arrows-.
–  Fit cover plate.
–  Fit the wheel hub and bearing assembly .
The stub axle must only be bolted when the measurement „a“ → Fig. is reached

–  Tighten the bolt -1- of the link rod.
–  Tighten the bolt of the lower transversal swinging arm -3-.

–  Tighten bolt -1- of the upper transversal swinging arm.
  Note
Washer -2- must be installed so that there is a gap -arrow B- between washer and splash plate -3-.

–  Tighten bolt -arrow-.
–  Install coil spring → Chapter.
–  Install ABS speed sensor in wheel bearing housing.
–  Install brake disc.

t  Use new nuts and bolts
t  Tighten threaded connections only when vehicle is in the normal running position
130 Nm + 90°
Wheel bearing housing to lower suspension link
t  Use new nuts and bolts
t  Tighten threaded connections only when vehicle is in the normal running position
90 Nm + 90°
Wheel bearing housing to track rod
t  Use new nuts and bolts
t  Tighten threaded connections only when vehicle is in the normal running position
130 Nm + 90°
Trailing arm to wheel bearing housing
t  Use new bolts.
90 Nm + 45°
Coupling rod to wheel bearing housing
t  Use new nut
45 Nm
Splash plate to wheel bearing housing12 Nm
ABS speed sensor to wheel bearing housing8 Nm
Shock absorber to wheel bearing housing180 Nm
Brake disc to wheel bearing housing4 Nm

–  Fit the brake support with the brake callipers → Braking system; Rep. gr.46.
–  Install wheel and tighten bolts to specified torque → Chapter.
