Dismantling and assembling the steering box
   
Dismantling and assembling the steering box
1 - Right track rod joint
q   removing and fitting → Chapter
q   Installation position → Anchor
2 - 50 Nm
3 - Spring-type hose clip
q   Remove and fit with the pliers -T20029-
4 - Bellows
q   Can only be replaced with the steering box removed
q   Before proceeding with the removal of the dustguard, the track rod joint -1- must be removed
q   Installing → Anchor
5 - Retaining clip
q   replace
q   Open with pliers
q   Installing → Anchor
6 - 6 Nm
q   For securing the thermal protection plate → Item
7 - Heat shield
q   Depending on version
8 - Clip
q   Replace in case of damage to the thread of the impression nut
9 - Rubber
q   Observe the position when fitting: The groove must be aligned to the rear.
q   Replace if damaged or worn
10 - Right-hand track rod, 80 Nm
q   removing and fitting → Chapter
q   Replacement part supplied pre-set
q   Adjusting toe → Chapter.
11 - Power steering box
q   No repair work can be done
q   removing and fitting → Chapter
q   Checking the centring → Chapter
q   Adjusting → Chapter
12 - Seal
13 - Seal
q   replace
14 - Power steering sensor -G250-
q   For ABS Brake Systems
q   For ESP brake systems, up to week 22/2010
q   Will not be installed in ESP brake systems, from week 22/2010
q   removing and fitting → Chapter
15 - 5 Nm
16 - Left track rod joint
q   removing and fitting → Chapter
q   Installation position → Anchor
17 - Left-hand track rod, 80 Nm
q   removing and fitting → Chapter
q   Replacement part supplied pre-set
q   Adjusting toe → Chapter.
