  Note
t  Repairs on the steering box are not foreseen. If there is any problem the steering box should be replaced.
t  To lubricate the steering box, only use steering box lubricant, use parts nº AOF 063 000 04. Do not overlubricate the steering box. The air compensation holes must be left free. If not, damage will be caused to the dust covers.
t  No welding or straightening work is allowed on the elements of the steering system.
t  Always replace any self-locking nuts and bolts.
t  Always replace corroded bolts/nuts.
1 - Steering rod head
q   Releasing → Fig.
q   Correspondence → Fig.
q   Verification → Chapter
2 - Counternut
q   50 Nm
3 - Tension ring
q   Note installation position
The eyes should face upwards
4 - Dustguard
q   It may be replaced with the steering box in position.
q   It cannot be twisted following convergence adjustment
q   Fitting → Chapter
5 - Tightening clip
q   Replacement -open using pincers.
6 - Steering rod right
q   Adjustable
q   As a spare it is already adjusted
q   Dismantle the steering box → Chapter, to carry out replacement
q   Fit the steering rod in the steering rack → Chapter
q   Adjust camber and convergence → Chapter, wheel alignment
7 - Counternut
q   50 Nm
8 - Steering rod left
q   Adjustable
q   As a spare it is supplied already adjusted
q   Dismantle the steering box → Chapter, to carry out replacement
q   Fit the steering rod in the steering rack → Chapter
q   Verify and adjust according to its length → Chapter
q   Adjust camber and convergence → Chapter, wheel alignment
9 - Hexagonal nut
q   35 Nm
q   Replace after removing
10 - Steering rod
11 - Steering rod head
q   Releasing → Fig.
q   Correspondence → Fig.
q   Verification → Chapter
12 - Hexagon head bolt
q   20 Nm +90° (1/4 turn) tighten again
q   Replace after removing
13 - Adjustment bolt
q   Adjusting the steering box → Chapter
14 - Steering box
q   Removing and installing → Chapter
q   Fit the steering rod in the steering rack → Chapter
15 - Joint
q   The ball joint “TOP” should point upwards
q   Before fitting the steering box, apply a lubricating product
16 - Hexagonal nut
q   25 Nm
17 - Articulated axle for the steering column

   
Take the steering rod head from the steering lever
Special tools and workshop equipment required
