Removing and installing steering wheel
Consult the equivalence table for tools and equipment according to applicability between Seat / VW / Audi / Skoda → Chapter.
Special tools and workshop equipment required
   
t  Torque wrench -V.A.G 1332-, see equivalence → Anchor

1 - Steering wheel
q   Different versions: Allocation: → Parts catalogue
q   Removal:
–  Removing the airbag → Item
–  Put the steering wheel in its centre position (wheels straight).
–  Remove the bolt → Item and the steering wheel.
q   Install
–  Fit the steering wheel: The steering wheel and column are marked → Anchor
–  Tighten the screw → Item
–  Fit the airbag → Item.

5 - Bolt.
q   Can be used 5 times
q   50 Nm
q   After assembly, mark the bolt with a punch

   
Removing steering wheel .
The steering wheel and column are marked for subsequent installation: the steering wheel with a notch and the column with a punch mark.
A  - Scratch mark on the steering wheel.
B  - Punchmark on the steering column.
1  - Bolt -1- Tightening torque: 50 Nm
This position must not be modified, otherwise, the rack and pinion may not be centred.
Steering columns supplied as spare parts are not marked with a punch.
If the steering column or steering wheel are replaced, it is necessary to carry out a wheel alignment, and a test run and then to reset the punch marks.
