| The purpose of this regulation is to prevent improper disposal of old tyres, provide legal guidelines for production and handling and promote reduction, recycling and other types of utilisation in order to protect the environment. |
| Producers and owners of old tyres are obligated to return old tyres to the tyre manufacturer for recycling or to an approved disposal point unless they are in a position to properly dispose of them themselves In this case, the legal regulations for old tyre disposal facilities apply. |
| Storage of old tyres in the facilities of the tyre manufacturer or tyre owner may not exceed a period of one year or a quantity of over 30 tons. |
