Warning lamp symbols in dash panel insert

t  The assignment of the warning lamps in the dash panel insert depends on vehicle equipment, country and engine version.
t  Different versions of dash panel insert are installed depending on vehicle equipment. The layout of the warning lamps could therefore deviate slightly from that of the illustration.
   
1 - Glow plug system warning lamp / diesel electronic engine management
q   Warning lamp only in vehicles with a diesel engine.
q   If it comes on: Pre-heating system activated (diesel engine)
q   Flashing: Engine control unit fault (diesel engines)
2 - Engine malfunction (EPC)
q   Warning lamp only in vehicles with a petrol engine
q   Flashing: Engine control unit fault (petrol engines)
3 - Diesel particulate filter warning lamp
4 - Oil pressure warning lamp
q   Oil pressure too low
q   Switch off engine and check oil level.
5 - Bulb failure or bend lighting system failure warning lamp
q   If it comes on: Driving light defective or partially defective
q   Flashing: Fault in dynamic cornering light (AFS)
6 - Rear fog light warning lamp
q   switched on
7 - Washer fluid warning lamp
q   Windscreen washer fluid level in reservoir too low
8 - Main beam warning lamp
q   Main beam switched on or headlight flasher pressed
9 - Seat belt warning lamp
q   Seat belt of driver or front passenger not engaged
10 - Anti-lock brake system (ABS) warning lamp
q   Fault
11 - Electronic stabilisation programme (ESP) warning lamp
q   Flashing: Electronic stability program (ESP) engages
q   If it comes on: ESP malfunction or deactivated
12 - Handbrake system/brake system warning lamp
q   Electromechanical parking brake switched on, brake fluid level too low or fault in braking system
13 - Cruise control system (CCS) warning lamp
q   CCS regulating
14 - Tyre pressure monitor warning lamp
q   Pressure in at least one tyre too low or system malfunction
15 - Brake pad warning lamp
q   Front brake pads worn
16 - Warning lamp "Operate foot brake"
q   Dual clutch gearbox (DSG) request
q   Warning lamp fitted on vehicles with dual clutch gearbox (DSG) only
17 - Fuel level warning lamp
q   Fuel level too low (reserve)
18 - Door open warning lamp
q   One or more doors are open or not completely locked.
19 - Rear lid open warning lamp
q   Rear lid open or not completely locked
20 - Airbag system/belt tensioner warning lamp
q   Malfunction in airbag and/or belt tensioning system
21 - Emissions warning lamp (OBD)
q   Exhaust system fault (catalytic converter)
22 - Electromechanical power steering warning lamp
q   Lights up yellow: electromechanically assisted steering reduced
q   Lights up red: electromechanically assisted steering failure
23 - Engine coolant temperature display warning lamp
q   Engine coolant temperature too high or
q   Engine coolant level too low
24 - Alternator warning lamp
q   Fault in alternator.
25 - Area monitoring system warning lamp
q   switched on
