General description
The following components, depending on the equipment, are integrated into the combined steering column switch:
t  Indicator switch -E2-
t  Dip and flash beam switch -E4-
t  Parking light switch -E19-
t  Windscreen wiper switch - intermittent operation -E22-
t  Rear window washer switch -E34-
t  Windscreen washer intermittent connection regulator -E38-
t  Cruise control system switch -E45-
t  SET button for GRA -E227-
  Note
If any of the above components are faulty, the entire combined steering column switch must be replaced.
The spring for airbag/retractor ring with contact ring -F138- is fitted to the combined steering column switch in such a way that it can be loosened and replaced separately. → Chapter
  Note
t  To remove or install the spring for airbag/retractor ring with contact ring -F138- or the combined steering column switch, the steering wheel must be in the “central position” (wheels “straight”).
t  The spring for airbag/retractor ring with contact ring -F138- is not removed to disassemble or fit the combined steering column switch.
t  The spring for airbag/retractor ring with contact ring -F138- cannot be turned out of position.
t  If the steering angle sender -G85- is integrated into the spring for airbag / retractor ring with contact ring -F138- (vehicles with ESP), the basic adjustment of the steering wheel angle sender must be carried out after fitting the combined steering column switch.
–  If necessary, carry out the basic adjustment of the steering wheel angle sensor → Chapter.
