Reconnecting battery

Caution

The instructions concerning the fastening of the terminals to the battery poles should be followed → Chapter.

Special tools and workshop equipment required

t	torque wrench set -SAT 8010-

–	Fit the positive terminal -1- onto the battery's positive pole.

–	Fasten the positive terminal securing bolt -2- to the prescribed torque → Chapter.

–	Fit the negative terminal -3- onto the battery's negative pole.

–	Fasten the negative terminal's securing bolt -4- to the prescribed torque → Chapter.

Continue the assembly in the reverse order to removal, remembering to:

–	Carry out the instructions in the table.

Required steps after connecting the battery

Procedure	Completed
Switch on ignition key: start and then switch off.
Read out the fault memory: Vehicle diagnostics, measuring and information system -VAS -.
Clock: check the time; set if necessary
Electrical window regulators: completely open and close all windows; turn the switch to the „Close“ position again and maintain until the control unit activates.
Operating test: all electrical devices

The table can be printed.
