Rain and light sensor -G397-: Removing and installing Removal: –  When renewing rain and light sensor -G397- select „Replacement“ function for appropriate control unit in „Guided Fault Finding“ or „Guided Functions“ → Vehicle diagnostic tester. –  Function or choose the path

–  Continue according to the instructions on the display of the vehicle diagnostic, testing and information system -VAS 505x-.

–  Switch off ignition and all electrical consumers and take out ignition key.

–  Remove top cover from -1- the foot of the inner mirror -arrow- –  Remove the electrical connector from its retainer. –  Unplug the electrical connector -2-. –  Turn the interior mirror on stem of the mirror-1- counterclockwise until it stops -arrow- –  Remove the interior of the mirror holding plate.

–  Unplug the electrical connector -2-. –  Hang out the brackets -arrow- with a small screwdriver and remove the rain sensor and light recognition -G397-. -Pos. 1-.

Installation Installation is carried out in reverse order, noting the following: –  From the windshield carefully the remnants of the old film of the sensor is removed. –  Clean the mounting surface of the windshield with the cleaning solvent -D 009 401 04-. –  Press tabs -arrows- on protective cover -2- together and detach cover from sensor for rain and light detection -G397-. -Pos. 1-.

–  Clean The entire surface of the sensor film-1- with the spraying cleaning solvent -D 009 401 04-. –  Bring theGel-cushion -4E0955609- and the sensor for rain and light detection -G397- in the carrier plate and pressure at the front stick so that bubbles are not formed.   Note Therain sensor for detecting light -G397- and must be audible in the carrier plate and place for the correct function without depressions or blisters on the front seat. –  Fasten therain sensor and light detection -G397- with the retaining spring on the carrier plate surface –  Set the interior mirror is 30 ° offset mounting position. –  Then the interior mirror in clockwise until it stops turning. –  Therain sensor for light detection -G397- and needs to be re-encoded → Vehicle diagnostic tester. –  Function or choose the path
