Aerial cables: replace
A new concept has been developed for repairing aerial cables. From now on, the spare parts available are junction cables of different lengths and different adaptor cables instead of a complete aerial cable.
  Note!
t  The aerial cables should not be repaired. If necessary, they should be replaced with original junction cables and adaptor cables available as original spare parts.
t  These original spare parts can be used for all aerial cables and all cable sections that need to be replaced.
t  If repairs are required, individual aerial connectors should not be changed.
t  These cables should be used retroactively for SEAT models, regardless of the section of the aerial cable.
t  All the adaptor cables and junction cables are standard for all two-way signals.
t  This repair concept can also be used for checking or for future installation.
Aerial cable: general assembly overview

E.g. the cable that goes from the radio to the aerial is faulty. The following cables are required to repair it:
1 - Adaptor cable, for connection to the radio. Approx. length 30 cm
2 - Junction cable; available in different lengths
3 - Adaptor cables, for connection to the aerial. Approx. length 30 cm
Assembly of a new aerial cable
  Note!
Depending on the automobile's equipment, the aerial cable may be subdivided into various sections by the aerial selection control units, the traffic station control units or the aerial amplifiers. In all cases, only the faulty section should be replaced.
–  The connectors on the faulty aerial cable should be removed from the devices.
–  Find out where the faulty cable runs through the vehicle and measure the total length of the aerial connection to be replaced in the vehicle.
  N97-0424
The total length of the aerial connection is obtained by adding the lengths of the adaptor cables required -1- and -3- , of the junction cable -2-.
–  To calculate the length of the junction cable required, subtract 60 cm from the total length measured for the aerial connection.
–  Order the adaptor cables and the junction cable required with the calculated length, as original spare parts, in accordance with the original spare parts catalogue.
–  Cut the connectors off the faulty aerial cable.
The rest of the faulty aerial cable should be left in the vehicle.
–  Connect the adaptor cables to the devices in the vehicle.
–  Place and fix the junction cable parallel to the old aerial cable.
  Note!
The aerial cables should not be bent excessively. The bend radius should not be less than 50 mm.
–  Connect the junction cable to the adaptor cables.
–  Carry out an operation test.
