–  Remove battery → Chapter.
   
Vehicles with 1.6 litre 2-valve engine
–  Disconnect hoses -1- and -2- from air cleaner housing.
–  Unscrew the bolt -3-.
–  Take out air cleaner housing.

Vehicles with 2.0 litre FSI engines:
–  Remove connector -4- for intake air temperature sender -G42- in air filter housing.
–  Disconnect hoses -1- and -2- from air cleaner housing.
–  Unscrew the bolt -3-.
–  Take out air cleaner housing.

Vehicles with TIDE engine
–  Unplug connector -2- at air-mass meter -G70-.
–  Detach vent hose -1- and air ducts -3- and -5-.
–  Screw out bolt -4- and detach air cleaner housing.

All:
–  Remove battery tray -arrows-.
–  Detach battery tray from air duct at front.

–  Remove 6-contact relay carrier from below electrical device servicing socket in engine compartment -arrow-.

–  Release 6-contact relay carrier cover -arrows-.

–  Release clips -arrows- ...

–  ... and remove 6-contact relay carrier -arrow- from cover.
