| The steering column switch, the contacts or the connector housing may be damaged when installed incorrectly. |
| For checking, proceed as follows: |

| Remove the steering column switch → Chapter |
| –
| Check the contacts on the steering column switch for damage |
| –
| Replace the steering column switch when damaged |
| –
| Check the contacts on 41-pin connector -T41-. |
| –
| When damaged, the respective pin must be removed and replaced by cables of the case for repairing the cables -VAS 1978A-. |
| –
| Renew damaged connectors if damaged → Chapter. |
