Connection of the fault readerV.A.G 1551
Connection of the fault reader -V.A.G 1551-
With the ignition turned off, connect the -V.A.G 1551- to the diagnosis connector using the cable -V.A.G 1551/3A-, in the following way:
–  Remove the driver side packet tray.
–  The connector for diagnosis is located above the fuse block.
   
–  Connect the fault reader using the cable -V.A.G 1551/3A-.
–  Turn on the ignition.
Notes:
t  If no indication appears on the display, the electrical supply to the -V.A.G 1551- must be checked against the electrical diagram.
t  The → key serves for going ahead in the program.
t  If incorrect data is entered, it can be cancelled by pressing C.

t  In operative mode 1 “Fast data transmission” it is possible to carry out the function 00 “Automatic checking cycle”, by which all the control units of the vehicle are automatically consulted.

–  Turn on the printer with the Print key (the warning light on the key comes on).
–  Press key1 for operative mode “Fast data transmission”.

–  Press keys 5 and 6.

–  Confirm entry by pressing Q.

If the display should show any of these messages, the fault must be located in the diagnosis cables, by proceeding according to the fault localisation program.
