Removing –  First check whether a coded radio is fitted. In this case, obtain anti-theft code. –  Move selector lever to “P” position. –  With the ignition switched off, disconnect the battery earth strap. –  Remove selector lever handle → Chapter. –  Remove centre console trim → General body repairs, interior; Rep. Gr.68.

–  Remove connector -1- of printed circuit board. –  Pull frame -arrows- with cover and printed circuit board up and off selector mechanism. –  Remove centre console → General body repairs, interior; Rep. Gr.68

–  Unscrew bolt -arrow 1- for selector lever cable. –  Press selector lever cable lock -arrows 2- together and pull selector lever cable up out of support bracket. –  Remove connector -arrow 3- of selector mechanism.

–  Pull plug -1- of solenoid out of side of selector mechanism. –  Pull cable -2- of solenoid out of holders of selector mechanism -arrows-.

–  Unscrew screws of selector lever housing -arrow 1- and -arrow 2-.

–  Insert a screwdriver between selector lever housing and selector mechanism. –  Lever off selector lever housing in area of threaded sleeves -arrows- in direction of arrow -1-. –  Remove selector lever housing.

–  Remove bolts -1- and remove retaining plate -2-.

–  Swivel push rod -1- of solenoid -2- in direction of arrow out of locking lever. –  Pull solenoid -2- out of selector mechanism slightly until it makes contact with locking lever. –  Pull the pull rod up and move the selector lever to position “2” with the pull rod pulled up.

–  Swivel locking lever -1- down in area of solenoid. –  Then pull locking lever -1- out of selector mechanism -arrow 2- as far as stop. –  Pull solenoid -4- out of its holder. Then turn solenoid to front -arrow 3-. –  Pull solenoid out of selector mechanism forwards at an angle.
