Removing and installing side airbag crash sensor, driver sideG179
Removing and installing side airbag crash sensor, driver side -G179-
  Note
The side airbag crash sensor, driver side -G179- is located on the driver's side B-pillar next to the automatic belt retractor.
removing
–  Remove the connecting piece between sill panel strip and luggage compartment trim → Chapter.
–  Remove sill panel moulding → Chapter.
  WARNING
Observe the general safety regulations when working on airbag, belt tensioner and battery isolator units (pyrotechnic components) → Chapter
–  Disconnect vehicle battery → Electrical system; Rep. gr.27.
   
–  Undo bolt -1- (6 Nm) and remove crash sensor for side airbag, driver's side -G179- from B-pillar.
–  Disengage the connector locking element and remove the plug connector -2- of the crash sensor for side airbag, driver´s side -G179--3-.
Installation
–  Installation is carried out in reverse order.
–  switch ignition on.
  WARNING
Ensure that nobody is in vehicle.
–  Reconnect vehicle battery → Electrical system; Rep. gr.27.
