  Note
The following sequences described for the removal and installation apply for the rear seat bench on the left side. The procedures for the right-hand side are similar.
t  Removing: → Anchor

Special tools and workshop equipment required
   
t  Torque wrench kit -SAT 8010-
Removing
  L00-10226
–  Fold backrest down.
–  Push the left part of the rear seat to the front as far as possible.
–  Undo the screw -1- and remove the pull rod -2- from the slide piece -3-.
  Caution
The backrest must be folded forwards in order to release the pull rod -2-. The spring element is free of tension in this position.
–  Return the backrest to its correct position.
–  At the bottom side of all profiles -4-, hang out the cover from the seat frame cover.

   
–  Remove the upholstery -1- and padding -3- from the seat frame.
–  Completely remove the upholstery from the padding.
–  Using a pliers, release all clips from the padding -2- and remove the upholstery.
  Note
If the clips -2- break off during removal, they must be renewed for reinstallation.

   
Installing
Installation is carried out in reverse order. The following should be taken into account:
–  Tighten bolt -1- to 5 ± 0.4 Nm.
