Installation
Lock cylinder has been inserted into door handle.
–
Clamp the door handle in a vice with protective jaws.
–
Place bearing

and carrier -2- on lock cylinder.

Insert the torsion spring
-1-
in the lock cylinder housing so that the point of the torsion spring is towards the rear.

Place the assembly tool -T 10009- with the narrow slot

on the torsion spring

Push down outer sleeve of assembly tool until it is lying on bearing

Note
To make the following assembly steps clearer, the assembly tool is shown in a cutaway view.

Turn assembly tool -T 10009- through 180° until slot
-arrow-
is pointing forwards.

Push down central rod
-1-
of assembly tool -T 10009-. This compresses the torsion spring.
–
End of torsion spring now jumps out of slot in assembly tool and engages in bearing.

Now carefully lift outer sleeve

of assembly tool.
Now the central rod
-2-
, which is pushed over the lock cylinder, becomes visible.
–
Lift assembly tool -T 10009- until groove in lock cylinder can be seen.

The torsion spring

must engaged in bearing

As an aid, the torsion spring can be pushed into the slot in the lock cylinder using a small screwdriver.

Remove assembly tool.
–
Fit paddle
-1-
onto the torsion spring and push it down.
–
Circular motions of the paddle release the torsion spring from the slot in the lock cylinder and allow it to be compressed further.

Insert lock washer

Then check for correct operation.
