Installing

Conditions

  • ● The pistons must not be positioned at TDC.

Note:

N15-0405

Gradual introduction of PTFE oil seals (Poly-Tetra-Fluor-Ethylen). Identifying characteristics: no annular spring, sealing lip wider. The sealing lip of this oil ring must not be oiled or lubricated. A plain encased seal of older construction (with annular spring) may be replaced with a PTFE oil seal, but not vice versa.

  • ‒ → Position oil seal with guide sleeve T10071/1 and press in to stop using press sleeve T10071 and bolt T10071/2.
  • ‒ Insert woodruff key in camshaft.

N15-0209
  • ‒ → Install the camshaft sprocket. Counter-hold with 3415 to tighten the camshaft sprocket securing bolt (first remove bolts -arrows-).
        Tightening torque: 100 Nm

Note:

When the camshaft is turned, the crankshaft must not be at TDC. Danger of damage to valves or piston crowns.

The rest of the assembly is basically a reverse of the dismantling sequence.
