Note

t	The Climatronic control unit -J255- and the air-conditioning/Climatronic control unit and display -E87- constitute a single unit, which cannot be disassembled.

t	When an Air-conditioning control unit and display, Climatronic -E87- is fitted with a new Climatronic control unit -J255-, the basic setting and adjustment of the „Initial commissioning of the air conditioner compressor“ should be carried out in the guided fault finding or in the guided functions.

Removal:

Special tools and workshop equipment required

t	Lever -U 30800-

–	Remove trim frame of the radio unit or the radio / navigation system → Rep. gr.91.

–	Loosen the bolts -arrows- (1.5 ± 0.2 Nm).

–	Put the tool U-30800 onto the side of the spacing's without scratching the dash panel and the centre venting unit Air-conditioning control unit and display, Climatronic -E87- clip out and remove the dash panel.

–	Unplug the connector -1- of the Air-conditioning control unit and display, Climatronic -E87- by releasing the fuse -arrow-.

Installation

Note

When an Air-conditioning control unit and display, Climatronic -E87- is fitted with a new Climatronic control unit -J255-, the basic setting and adjustment of the „Initial commissioning of the air conditioner compressor“ should be carried out in the guided fault finding or in the guided functions.

Installation is performed in the reverse sequence, when doing so, tighten the screws to tightening torque of 1.5 ± 0.2 Nm.
