Pulley: Replacing (compressor make ?Zexel?) > < Replacing pulley (compressor, make ?Denso?, version ?2?)
Removing and refitting the compressor pulley („Denso“ brand compressor, version „2“)
Removing and refitting the compressor pulley („Denso“ brand compressor, version „2“)
  Note
t  Note the comments for removal of the pulley version „1“ because these are also valid for the removal of version „2“ → Chapter.
t  Perform same preliminary work for detaching pulley as described for version „1“ → Anchor.
t  The pulley is made from plastic and is quite fragile, for this reason manipulate it with due care.

t  If overload protection device of drive plate -C- has been triggered, remove circlip -A- and then prise drive plate off pulley -D-.
  E87-10004
t  To reduce the noise, the pulley drive plate -A- can incorporate a plastic disk -B- → Spare parts catalogue. This disk -B- reduces the rattling noise of the pulley, which may occur in Diesel engine vehicles in „Econ“ mode (activation of the compressor cancelled) (the noise is barely perceptible when the air conditioning is full on).
Removal:
  A87-10128
–  Remove the plastic disk -B- from the pulley -A- ( if fitted)
  A87-10128
–  Remove the circlip -A- for example, carefully using a small screwdriver or a large nose pliers (take special care not to damage the pulley).
–  Hold the compressor shaft -B- with an ordinary hexagonal wrench or a socket from the shock absorber kit -T10001- (depending on the compressor version) and turn the drive plate -C- with the pulley -D- in the direction of the arrow -E- (35 Nm tightening torque)
–  Remove drive disc -C-.
  E87-10004
–  Remove the circlip -A-.
–  Detach pulley -B-.
Installation
  Note
t  Replace the circlip -A-.
t  Clean the compressor bracket before fitting the pulley.
  E87-10005
t  Take special care when fitting the circlip -A- that it is not bent any more than is necessary for fitting.
–  Install pulley -B-.
–  Fit the circlip -A- on the correct side, the side with the insertion rebate -C- should be on the side facing away from the compressor (the flat side faces the compressor).
–  Insert rubber elements -D- into pulley -B- as shown.
–  Before installing drive plate, coat rubber elements -D- slightly with lubricant (e.g. tyre fitting paste or soap solution).
  Note
The rubber buffer elements must be fitted to the pulley in such a way that the arrow points to the exterior.
  E87-10005
–  Fit the drive plate -C- onto the rubber buffer elements -D- (refer to the figure E87–10005), to the plate is at the same level as the compressor shaft -B-.
  E87-10004
–  Screw in the nut for the drive plate -C- rotating it in -the direction of the arrow--F- onto the compressor shaft -B-.
–  Tighten drive plate -C- (via pulley -D-) to 35 Nm by turning in direction of arrow -F- with a commercially available strap wrench (with fabric strap). Hold compressor shaft -B- in position with a commercially available Allen key or a socket wrench from shock absorber set -T10001-.
–  Install securing ring -A-.
–  Fit circlip -A- (with rubber disc).
  E87-10004
–  Clean the pulley drive plate -A- and stick the plastic disk -B- centred over the drive plate (only in compressors without a rubber washer in the circlip).
