Removing
  WARNING
Danger of freezing injuries.
If refrigerant circuit has not been evacuated, refrigerant and refrigerant oil will escape.
Extract refrigerant before opening refrigerant circuit. If the refrigerant circuit is not opened within 10 minutes after it has been evacuated, pressure may develop in refrigerant circuit due to re-evaporation. Extract refrigerant again.
First carry out the following work:
–  Extract refrigerant, e.g. with air conditioning service station -VAS 6007A- (or later model).
–  Observe notes → Chapter.
–  Remove dash panel → Rep. Gr.70.

–  Clamp off coolant hoses in engine compartment to heat exchanger using hose clamps up to 40 mm Ø -VAS 3093-.
  WARNING
Danger of scalding injuries.
When the engine is warm, the coolant temperature may be above 100 °C. The cooling system is pressurised.
If necessary, release pressure and reduce temperature before carrying out repairs.
–  Pull coolant hoses off heat exchanger.
–  Seal heat exchanger to prevent coolant from leaking out.
–  Remove dust and pollen filter with filter housing → Chapter.
–  Remove assembly support → Rep. Gr.70.

Installing:
–  Guide heater and air conditioning unit to bulkhead and push studs through intended holes.
–  Screw hexagon nuts -1- onto bulkhead in engine compartment and tighten them.
–  Check coolant level and top up. → Rep. Gr.19
