Servomotor for the air retention flap -V71- with Potentiometer - servomotor for air retention flap -G113-: removing and fitting
l  From 05/07, the components Servomotor for the air retention flap -V71-with the Potenciometer - servomotor for the air retention flap -G113- is replaced by a cam system, see → Current flow diagrams, Electrical fault finding and Fitting locations → Chapter
  Note
t  Operation of control motor can be checked in the following manner, for example: Connect the two pins “5” and “6” in the servomotor plug to a 12V DC voltage supply, the servomotor will move to the maximum position in only one direction, exchanging the positive and negative poles modifies the direction of turn. Use adapter cable for this purpose → Chapter.
t  Following the fitting of a new servo motor, carry out the basic setting of the climate control → Vehicle diagnosis, testing and information system VAS 5051.
t  With the function “basic adjustment” additional tests can be done for the activation of the electric components of climate control, for example, to ensure that they are not mixed up → Vehicle diagnosis, testing and information system VAS 5051.
t  Test, after installing a new servomotor, the activation by the Climatronic control unit -J255- and the operation of the servomotor (correct position for the air recycling and fresh air options) → Vehicle diagnosis, testing and information system VAS 5051.
t  The Servomotor for the air retention flap -V71- can only be removed when in the position “full fresh air position”; it can only be refitted in this position. If the servomotor is stopped in any other position and it may not be moved into the position of “maximum fresh air ”, it will be difficult to remove and dismantle.
t  Different versions of the servomotor in vehicles fitted with heating or air conditioning (with end of run switches and potentiometers) → Parts catalogue.
