Removing
  Note
To carry out this work it will be necessary to disconnect battery earth strap. For this purpose, first check whether a coded radio is fitted. Where necessary, check the anti-theft coding first.
–  With the ignition switched off, disconnect battery earth strap.

–  Remove the sound proofing from the engine by pulling forcefully upwards -arrows- .

–  Remove the supercharger air tube -1- along with the connection tube -2- by separating the spring clips -arrows- .

–  Remove the air filter along with the air filter intake hose -6- .
–  Separate the breather hose for the crankshaft sump -2- from the supercharger air pipe -5-.

–  Unscrew bolts -3- and -4- from the supercharger air duct -5-.

–  separate using the counterhold -T20174- the supercharger air tube flange -1- to the turbocharger.
–  Separate the low pressure tubes from the pressure chamber and from the turbocharger.
–  Extract the attachment nuts -2- from the front exhaust tube to the turbocharger.
–  unscrew the coupling nut -3- from the oil supply lines.

–  Unscrew the turbocharger attachment bolts -4- .

–  Remove the central soundproofing → Bodywork, exterior installation work; Rep. gr.50.
–  Remove the supercharger air pipe between the intercooler and the turbocharger → Chapter.

–  Unscrew the bolts -arrows- and remove the heat protecting plate.

–  Unscrew the oil return tube coupling nut -5- from the coupling connection.

–  Unscrew the lower turbocharger attachment nut -arrow- .
–  Extract the turbocharger downwards .
Installing
  Note
t  Always replace seals, gaskets and self-locking nuts.
t  Charge the turbocharger with engine oil using the connection sleeve of the oil supply pipe.
t  The sleeves for the hoses and the supercharger air flow tubes should be free of oil and grease before fitting.
t  Secure all hose connections with the correct hose clips (same as original equipment) → Parts catalogue.
t  After fitting the exhaust gas turbocharger, allow the engine to run at idle for about 1 minute, without accelerating; this will lubricate the turbocharger.

–  Fit the turbocharger and screw in without tightening the lower attachment nut -arrow- .

–  Apply the paste to the thread and contact surface of the head of the new screw -4- → Spare parts catalogue and tighten the screw to 30 Nm.
–  Tighten the coupling nut -3- for the oil supply line and tighten to a torque of: 30 Nm.
–  Secure the front exhaust tube to the turbocharger with new nuts and tighten to a torque of 25 Nm.

–  Tighten the attachment nut -arrow- for the turbocharger to a torque of 30 Nm.
–  Tighten the coupling nut for the oil supply line and tighten to a torque of: 30 Nm.
Installation is carried out in the reverse order of removal while noting the following:
–  Check oil level → Fig.
