Checking sequence
–  Fold rear seat bench forwards.
–  Raise cover of fuel delivery unit.
  N20-10606
–  First check that connector -arrow- is fitted securely by pulling connector without pressing catch. The connector can cause a fault if it has not been fitted correctly.
–  Separate the connector -arrow- from the flange of the fuel tank.
–  Connect test instrument/DSO adapter (5-pin) -VAS 5565- between connector and flange.
  N20-10623
–  Connect hand-held multimeter -V.A.G 1526D- to contacts -1- and -5- of adapter.
–  Connect the Vehicle diagnostics tester -VAS 505X- and perform the guided function „Fuel pump: Actuate (Fuel pump: check “.
  Note
The fuel pump is now activated for 30 seconds.
–  Read off the current consumption on the hand-held multimeter -V.A.G 1526D-: Setpoint value = Battery voltage (- 0.5 V o.k.).
If no voltage is present:
–  Check the activation of the pump relay and the cables to see if there is a false contact or short circuit. → Vehicle diagnostic tester
Voltage supply okay.
