Installing > < Renewing valve stem seals

Removing
Removing
(with cylinder head fitted)
–  Remove camshaft → Chapter.
–  Remove bucket tappet with pliers -U-10014-.
–  Place down on storage plate -U-10083- with running (contact) surface downwards Ensure the tappets are not interchanged when doing this.
–  Set piston of respective cylinder to top dead centre (TDC).
   
–  Fit assembly tool -T20034- (with 35 mm Ø press piece) and secure using bearing cap securing nuts.
–  Remove cotters and valve springs and place down on storage plate -U-10083-.
  Note!
The valves are supported by the piston crown.
–  Pull off valve stem seals with puller -T20058-.
