Removing
–  Remove air filter → Fig..
–  Remove the protective plate from the exhaust manifold
–  Mark direction of rotation and remove the ribbed belt → Chapter.
–  In vehicles with air conditioning/heating system, remove the idler roller and the tensioner for the ribbed belt..
–  Unbolt the coolant expansion tank (without removing hoses) and lay to side.
–  Remove upper toothed belt guard.
   
–  Remove belt pulley/vibration damper.
–  Remove lower toothed belt guard.

–  Fit the bracket -U-30025E-.

–  Place camshaft sprocket on the mark -arrow A-.
–  Position crankshaft at TDC cylinder 1. The ground-down tooth on the crankshaft sprocket must align with the mark -2V- on the sealing flange -arrow B-.

–  Pretension the engine slightly by turning the U-30025E support spindle and remove the fixing bolts -A- from the engine console in the cylinder head support and the fixing bolts -B- from the engine console in the bodywork and remove the console.
–  Remove bolts which secure the console to the cylinder head and separate it.
–  Mark D.O.R. of toothed belt.
–  Release tensioning roller and take off toothed belt.
–  Turn crankshaft back slightly.
