Check conditions
l  Fuse No. 8 OK.
l  Battery voltage at least 11.5 V
l  Fuse No. 7 OK.
–  Remove cover from fuel delivery unit.
–  Briefly operate starter. Fuel pump must be heard to run for approx. 1 second (wait at least 10 seconds if the test must be repeated)
–  Switch off ignition.
If the fuel pump does not run:
–  Pull fuel pump relay -J17- out of relay plate (position 8).

–  Operate remote control.
Fuel pump runs:
–  Check activation of fuel pump relay using current flow diagram → Current flow diagrams, Electrical fault finding and Fitting locations.

–  Operate remote control. LED must light up
LED does not light up:
–  Locate and eliminate open circuit using current flow diagram → Current flow diagrams, Electrical fault finding and Fitting locations.
LED lights up (voltage supply OK.):
–  Remove fuel delivery unit using tool -U-40055A- → Chapter.
–  Check that the electrical wires between flange and fuel pump are connected.
