Consult the equivalence table for tools and equipment according to applicability among Seat / VW / Audi / Skoda → Chapter.
Special tools and workshop equipment required
   
t  Pressure gauge -VAG 1318-, please see equivalent → Anchor
Test prerequisites
l  Battery voltage at least 12.5 V
l  Fuel filter OK.
l  Fuel tank at least 1/2 full.
l  Ignition switched off

Checking fuel delivery rate
–  Remove the engine cover upwards -arrows-.
–  Remove the soundproofing from the cover of the roller rocker arms.

t  Always follow these rules for cleanliness and instructions before starting work and while working on the fuel system.
t  Prior to opening the fuel system, place a clean cloth around the joint and carefully loosen this to reduce the pressure.

–  Disconnect fuel supply line -arrow- on high pressure pump.

–  Hold the fuel supply line -1- in a measuring beaker -2-.
–  Connect the central diagnosis -VAS 505X-.
–  Switch ignition on.
–  Select „Engine electronics“ in the self-diagnosis program.
–  Then select „Basic setting“.
–  Select „display group 35“.
–  Press „activate“ button.
–  The fuel pump runs on.
–  Operate the fuel pump for 10 seconds and end the activation.
l  Specification after 10 seconds: min. 400 ml
When the minimum flow is not supplied, this may have the following causes:
t  the 10 seconds were not fulfilled
t  the fuel lines are trapped
t  the fuel filter is blocked
t  the fuel pumps are defective: Checking → Rep. gr.20

Check fuel system for leaks.
