Removing and installing charge air cooler

Consult the equivalence table for tools and equipment according to applicability among Seat / VW / Audi / Skoda → Chapter.
Special tools and workshop equipment required
t  Torque wrench kit -SAT 8010-, see equivalent → Anchor
t  Measuring tool -T10007-, see equivalent → Anchor
t  Pliers -T20174- or pliers -SAT 1105-, see equivalent → Anchor
t  Centre guide -T20070-, see equivalent → Anchor
t  Tray -T20173-, see equivalent → Anchor

Removing
–  Place the lock carrier plate into service position →  Bodywork, exterior fitting work ; Rep. gr.50
  WARNING
The air conditioning refrigerant circuit must not be opened.
  Note
To avoid damage to the condenser and refrigerant pipes/sleeves, take care not to bend, twist or stretch the pipes/sleeves excessively.
–  Drain coolant → Chapter.
–  Pull coolant hoses off radiator.
–  Pull the plug connector off thermal switch and radiator fan.
–  Loosen the clamps and remove the air hoses from the intercooler. Separate the hoses to one side.
   
–  Unscrew the condenser from the radiator fastener-arrow-.

–  Unscrew the bolts -1- that fasten the radiator to the lock carrier plate.
–  Unscrew the bolts -2- that fasten the condenser to the radiator and to lock plate carrier.
–  Remove the radiator-duct-intercooler assembly from the vehicle.

–  Press the upper locking elements -1- on both sides to remove the air duct from the radiator. Remove the duct from above
–  Separate the the radiator from the charged air cooler. For this purpose, carefully apply a lever force -2- in the direction of the -arrow- as shown in the illustration, and remove the radiator.
Installing
Install in the reverse order from removal, remembering the following:
–  Insert the locking element of the coolant radiator to the supercharger correctly.
  WARNING
Make sure that the locking elements have been connected correctly from the radiator to the supercharger.
  Note
t  The supercharger air system should not leak
t  The sleeves for the hoses and the supercharger air flow tubes should be free of oil and grease before fitting.
t  Secure all hose connections with the correct hose clips (same as original equipment) → Parts catalogue.
–  Installing hose connections with connector couplings → Chapter.
–  Fill up coolant → Chapter.
