Special tools and workshop equipment required
   
t  Manual vacuum pump -VAS 6213-, see equivalent → Anchor
  W00-10259
t  Adapter set -V.A.G 1318/17-, see equivalent → Anchor
Test condition
l  Ignition must be switched off.
Checking sequence
  W00-10114
–  Remove the ventilation pipe -1-. To do so, press the release tabs.
–  Then connect the manual vacuum pump -VAS 6213- using the adaptor set -V.A.G 1318/17- to the piping which goes to the activated carbon filter.
–  Operate the hand vacuum pump -VAS 6213- several times. Vacuum must not build up.
If a vacuum builds up:
–  Check if the ventilation hose of the activated carbon filter is dirty and clean it, if necessary.
If a vacuum does not build up:
–  Temporarily block breather hose and operate vacuum pump several times. A vacuum must build up.
If a vacuum does not build up:
–  Renew active carbon filter.
