  Caution
When doing any repair work, especially in the engine compartment, pay attention to the following due to the cramped conditions:
t  All the various lines (e.g. fuel, hydraulic system, active carbon filter system, coolant, refrigerant, brake fluid and vacuum pipes and hoses) and electrical wiring must be installed in their original positions.
t  To prevent damaging the hoses, ensure that all mobile or hot components are easily accessible.
–  Remove the air filter housing → Chapter.

t  In this engine the camshafts are housed in a casing. Before removing the camshaft housing, the principal notched belt must be removed.
t  The camshaft housing sealing surface must not be reworked.
–  First check whether a coded radio is fitted. Check the anti-theft code in this case.
–  With the ignition switched off, release the battery earth strap.
–  Unscrew the bolts and remove the camshaft housing cover → Item.
–  First remove principal notched belt → Chapter.
–  Remove the 4-pin connectors from the ignition coils arrows.
–  Removing ignition coils. To do so, use the extractor -T10094A-.
–  Remove the guide with cable harness from the camshaft housing.
   
–  Extract the attachment bolts -arrows- for the gearbox support.
–  Remove the coolant bleeding tube from the camshaft housing.
–  Disconnect the connector from the Hall sender.
–  Undo the securing bolt of the rear notched belt guard, in the region of the right ring for the load hook.
–  Loosen the camshaft housing bolts, from outside to inside, diagonally.
–  Carefully lift camshaft housing off.
