1 - Electronic pressure limiter valve for supercharger -N75-
q   Mounted on the turbocharger → Fig.
2 - Turbocompressor air recirculation valve -N249-
q   Mounted on the turbocharger → Fig.
3 - Motronic control unit -J220-
q   Removing and fitting → Chapter
4 - Ignition coils with output stage
q   Ignition coil 1 with output stage -N70-
q   Ignition coil 2 with output stage -N127-
q   Ignition coil 3 with output stage -N291-
q   Ignition coil 4 with output stage -N292-
q   Removing and fitting → Chapter
q   The ignition coils must be removed from the cylinder head with the extractor -T40039-
5 - Lambda probe -G39- and Lambda probe heating -Z19-, 55 Nm

q   Installing and removing:
q   The screw thread on the new lambda probe is coated with a special paste; the paste must not get into the slots on the probe body
q   When reusing the old lambda probe lubricate the thread with high-temperature lubricant; the paste must not get into the slots on the probe body; high-temperature lubricant → parts catalogue
q   Connector colour: black
6 - Fuel pressure sender, low pressure -G410-
q   Tightening torque: 15 Nm.
7 - Fuel pressure regulator valve -N276-
8 - Valve 1 for variable distribution -N205-
q   Removing and fitting → Chapter
9 - Coolant temperature sensor -G62-

10 - 6-pin connector
q   For the lambda probe -G39- and lambda probe heating -Z19- (black) → Fig.
11 - Single piston high pressure pump

12 - Coolant temperature sender (radiator outlet) -G83-

13 - Intake manifold flap motor -V157- withintake manifold flap potentiometer -G336-:
q   After removing or replacing the fuel distributor, the intake manifold flap potentiometer -G336- must be re-adapted to the engine control unit -J220-Diagnosis system for vehicles and service information -VAS 5052-“Guided functions”

q   After replacing the throttle valve control unit -J338-, the Motronic control unit -J220- → Vehicle diagnosis, testing and information system VAS 5051 must again be adapted, or else to the guided functions.

q   On the roller muffler, on the driver's side
B  - Air mass gauge -G70-
q   In air cleaner upper part → Fig.
q   Removing and installing air mass meter -G70- → Chapter
C - Fuel pump control unit -J538-

q   If the Fuel pump control unit -J538- is replaced, a basic adjustment must be completed → Vehicle diagnosis, testing and information system VAS 5051.

q   The injectors concerned are high pressure injectors. These inject fuel directly into the cylinder at high-pressure (about 120 bar maximum).
