Bracket for auxiliary units: Removing and installing. t  Removing → Anchor t  Fitting → Anchor t  Tightening torques → Anchor Consult the equivalence table for tools and equipment according to applicability among Seat / VW / Audi / Skoda → Chapter. Special tools and workshop equipment required

t  Torque wrench -VAG 1331-, see equivalent → Anchor.

t  counterhold -T10038-, see equivalent → Anchor Removing –  Remove poly V-belt → Chapter.

–  Unplug connector -arrow-. –  Undo the nut -1- and remove the hose -2- from the generator.

–  Screw out bolts -arrows- and remove alternator.   Note t  If the alternator is stuck on its support, tighten the fixing screw 2 turns less. t  Carefully tap the bolt heads with the flat side of the hammer (in this manner you release the alternator fixing clamps).   WARNING The air conditioning / Climatronic cooling circuit must not be opened.   Note In order to avoid damage to the condenser or the pipes/hoses of the refrigerant, avoid pulling, bending or twisting excessively.

–  Unplug electrical connection -1- from the magnetic clutch for the compressor. –  Remove compressor bolts -arrows-. –  Remove the bracket of the coolant line on the right longitudinal beam.

–  Fasten the compressor to the lock carrier using the counterhold -T10038-.

–  Unscrew securing bolts -1- and remove bracket. Fitting Install in reverse order to dismantling, noting the following: –  Fit ancillary bracket to cylinder block.

–  Tighten the screws -1- to 25 Nm. Tightening torque tensioner → Item. –  Installing air conditioner compressor. –  Installing the alternator. –  Install poly V-belt → Chapter. Continue installation following reverse order for removing. Tightening torques
