Exhaust system - Components overview, engine identification letters BLR and BVY > < Engine code BLY and BVZ. Lambda probeG39 and lambda probe after catalytic converterG130 removing and installing
Parts of the exhaust system
Parts of the exhaust system
  Note
t  Vehicles with engine codes BLZ and BVZ comply with emission standard EU 2. On these vehicles some emissions-related components are not fitted, e.g. exhaust gas recirculation system, NOx sensor control unit -J583-, Lambda probe 2 -G108- and Lambda probe 2 after catalytic converter -G131-. This must also be considered during assembly work.
t  Do not use sealants containing silicone. Particles of silicone drawn into the engine, will not be burnt in the engine and damage the Lambda probe.
t  Renew seals, gaskets and self-locking nuts.
t  After completing work on the exhaust system ensure that it is tension-free and remains at a sufficient distance from the bodywork. If necessary, loosen the clamping bracket and align the silencer with exhaust pipe so that there is always a sufficient clearance from the bodywork and is evenly distributed over the suspension elements.

t  After completing work on the exhaust system ensure that it is tension-free and remains at a sufficient distance from the bodywork. If necessary, loosen clamp and align silencers and exhaust pipe so that sufficient clearance is maintained to the bodywork at all points and the mountings are evenly loaded.
