Lubrication system - General components overview
  Caution
During engine repairs if significant amounts of metal shavings or particles created by damage or abrasion are found in the oil, this could be due to damage to the piston or bedplate bearings. To avoid subsequent damage, carry out the following operations following the initial repairs:
Clean minutely, the oil conduits
Replace the oil radiator.
Replace the oil filter element.

Part I: Exploded view of components

1 - 15 Nm
2 - Sealing flange
q   With seal
q   Must sit on dowel sleeves
q   Removing and installing.
q   Install with silicone sealant -D176404A2-.
q   Do not grease or oil the seal lip of the seal
q   Before installing, remove oil residue from crankshaft journal using a clean cloth.
q   Renewing crankshaft oil seal - pulley end
3 - Chain tension device with tensor rail, 15 Nm
q   Pre-tension spring and engage before installing
4 - Oil dipstick
q   Oil level must not be above max. mark on dipstick!
q   Markings
5 - Filling funnel
6 - Guide pipe
7 - Dowel sleeves
8 - O ring
q   Replace
9 - 15 Nm
10 - Suction pipe
q   Clean strainer if dirty
11 - Baffle plate
12 - 15 Nm
13 - 15 Nm
14 - Oil pan
q   Clean sealing surface before installing
q   Install with silicone sealant -D176404A2-.
q   Removing and installing → Chapter
15 - Oil drain plug, 30 Nm
q   Replace
16 - 10 Nm
17 - Oil level/oil temperature sender -G266-
q   Depending on version
q   Black, 3 contacts
18 - Seal
q   Replace
19 - Oil pump:
q   With 12 bar pressure relief valve.
q   Before installing, check that both dowel sleeves for centring oil pump on cylinder block are fitted.
q   Replace if there is scoring on the friction surfaces or the gear teeth.
20 - Oil pump chain sprocket
21 - Spring retainer
q   For oil level sender and oil temperature sender cable harness
22 - 20 Nm + 90° (1/4 turn)
q   Replace
23 - Chain for oil pump
24 - 25 Nm
q   Fit without using sealant
25 - Oil spray jet
q   For piston cooling

   
Oil jets and pressure release valve
1 - Bolt with pressure relief valve - 25 Nm
2 - Oil spray jet for cooling piston
Part II: oil filter bracket
t  Installation position for the oil radiator gasket → Fig.
  A13-0687
1 - Oil filter bracket
q   Removing and installing → Chapter
2 - 15 Nm + 90° (1/4 turn)
q   Replace
q   Firstly position the upper left bolts and lower right bolts then tighten in stages diagonally
3 - Seal
q   Replace
4 - Seal
q   Replace
5 - Trim cap, 35 Nm
6 - Oil supply pipe, 22 Nm
q   To turbocharger
7 - Cap, 25 Nm
q   Depending on version: Wrench -T20160- e/c 36 mm or universal socket wrench -e/c 32 mm-
8 - Seal
q   Replace
9 - Oil filter element
q   Note the fitting position: "Top" marked
10 - Screw plug, 10 Nm
q   In case of leakage, cut out and replace sealing ring
11 - Oil pressure switch -F1-
q   0.7 bar switch: Brown colour
q   Tighten to 20 Nm
q   In case of leakage, cut out and replace sealing ring
q   check
12 - Screw plug, 25 Nm
13 - Seal
q   Replace
14 - Oil cooler
q   Ensure clearance from surrounding components
q   See note → Chapter
15 - Seal
q   Replace
q   Installation position → Fig.
16 - Spring retainer
17 - 10 Nm

   
Installation position for the oil radiator gasket
–  Fit the gasket -2- so that all of the oil radiator pins can be inserted -1-.
l  Oil hole -arrow- cannot remain covered by the gasket.
