Removing
  Caution
The fitting/removal of the pre-wiring can only be carried out by bolting the retainer clips. If a cable channel comes loose from the retainer clips, the channel will bend and, as play increases, the cable may break. This is also true when replacing the injector-pump unit, as with any work which does not require the total removal of the central connector.
  Note
For the removal of the piezoelectric element connectors for the injector pump only the special extractor -T10312- should be used.
  W00-10330

  A15-0912
–  Fit the wrench -T10310- on the adapter ring and release by turning through 90° (1/4 turn) in the -direction of the arrow-.
  N23-10095
–  Gently pull the safety clip -1- upwards using a screwdriver and press the central connector -2- inwards.
  N23-10086
–  Move the extractor -T10312- sideways on the injector pump connectors and remove them in the -direction of the arrow-. If the connector is an older version, you will have to use a pincer with long prongs.
  N23-10093
–  Extract the connections of the glow plugs -1-. Undo the bolts -2- on the steel retainers and completely remove the pre-wiring.
Fitting
Installation is carried out in the reverse order of removing, when doing this note the following.
–  Fit the pre-wiring and tighten the bolts to a torque of 10 Nm.
  N23-10094
–  Guide the central connector through the opening in the bearing cap module, ensuring that the retainer clip is correctly fitted -arrows-.
  N23-10088
–  Fit the adapter ring (“long” coloured collar -arrow- indicates 12 o'clock).
  N23-10089
–  Fit the wrench -T10310- on the adapter ring and fasten by turning through 90° (1/4 turn) in the -opposite direction to the arrow-.
  Note
If the adapter ring has been correctly fitted, the “short” coloured collar faces 12 o'clock.
–  Mount the central connector on the cylinder head and lock.
