Fitting a new control unitJ104 > < ABS control unit J104 and ABS control unit and ABS hydraulic unitN55 : removal.
Unscrew the ABS control unitJ104 from the ABS hydraulic unit N55
Unscrew the ABS control unit -J104- from the ABS hydraulic unit - N55-
  Note
On vehicles fitted with hydraulic servo brake or hill start assist the control unit cannot be separated from the hydraulic unit.
–  Place the ABS control unit -J104- with theABS hydraulic unit -N55- downward on a clean and flat surface.
   
–  Undo the Torx E 5 bolts -arrows- of the hydraulic unit.
  WARNING
Hydraulic pump is not to be separated from hydraulic unit.
Avoid electrostatic discharge!

–  To do so, the hydraulic pump must be secured using the red support -1- from the spare set and two threaded plugs -2- to the anti-lock brake system (ABS) hydraulic unit - N55-.

–  Carefully pull the ABS hydraulic unit -N55- with the hydraulic pump upwards in order to separate them from the ABS control unit - J104- along the line of separation -1-.

When removing the ABS control unit -J104- from the hydraulic unit of the anti-lock braking system (ABS), -N55 - both must be positioned completely parallel to each other. Otherwise the valves may catch in the solenoid coil of the control unit.
Adapter position -2- for pump motor.
–  Cover the control unit solenoids with a lint-free cloth.
After separating the control unit from the hydraulic unit, cover the valves with the transport protection.
