–  To adjust the steering box in a vehicle with the steering wheel to the left.
Rotating the steering wheel from side to side (about 30° from the centre axis), a rattling noise may be heard when the steering has too much play.

–  To adjust the steering box in a vehicle with the steering wheel to the right.
–  Raise the vehicle.
–  Place the wheels straight.
–  Release the counternut securing with the spanner -U-30031-.
–  Carefully rotate the adjustment bolt until the rattling noise ceases.
–  Tighten the counter nut.
–  During a test drive ensure that the steering wheel returns to its centre position without sticking following a manoeuvre or after turning. If necessary, correct the adjustment.
