Power steering box: general overview
Repairs are not foreseen for the servo steering box. In case of a problem, the possible causes should be discovered using pressure testing and airtight tests. If there is a problem, change the power steering transmission.
  Note
t  Always renew self locking nuts following their removal. No welding or straightening work is allowed on the elements of the steering system.
t  To lubricate the rack, only use the steering mechanism grease -AOF 063 000 04-.
t  Always renew self locking nuts following their removal.
t  Oil type: hydraulic oil -G 002 000-.
t  Quantity of oil in the system: 0.7... 0.9 litre.
t  Layout of the suction and pressure hoses.

1 - Steering rod head
q   Verification: → Chapter
q   Marked with an “R”
q   Release the steering guide lever → Anchor
2 - Counternut
q   50 Nm
3 - Clamp
q   Replacement (open using pincers ).
q   Tension → Anchor
q   Installation position: the hooks face up
4 - Dustguard
q   It may be replaced with the steering box in position.
q   Ensure that it is not twisted
q   Adjust convergence.
q   Fitting → Chapter
5 - Tightening clip
q   Replacement (open using pincers ).
q   Tension → Anchor
6 - Steering rod right
q   80 Nm
q   Removing and installing → Chapter
q   As a spare it is already adjusted
q   Adjust the convergence → Chapter
7 - 50 Nm
q   Replace
8 - Steering rod
9 - Steering rod head
q   Marked with an “L”
q   Verification → Chapter
q   Releasing → Anchor
10 - Steering rod left
q   80 Nm
q   As a spare it is already adjusted
q   Removing and installing → Chapter
q   Verify and adjust according to its length → Chapter
q   Adjust convergence → Chapter
11 - Bolt
12 - Clip with nut
13 - Rubber bearing
14 - Steering box
q   Removing and installing → Chapter
15 - Compensation line
q   Check for damage
16 - Adjustment bolt
17 - Self locking nut
q   30 Nm
q   Always replace
18 - Join ring
q   Always replace
19 - Coupling nut
q   20 Nm
20 - Pressure tubing
21 - Coupling nut
q   30 Nm
22 - Hose
