Renewing gas discharge bulb
  WARNING
High voltage! Danger to life! Observe environmental requirements.
Safety precautions when handling gas discharge bulbs → Electrical system; General information; Rep. gr.94.
Removal:
   
–  Switch off ignition and all electrical consumers and take out ignition key.
–  Turn light switch to „0“ position.
–  Unscrew bolts -arrows-.
–  Disengage solenoid valve 1 for the active carbon vessel -N80--item 1- on the air duct.

–  Remove air duct -2-.

–  Unhook retaining spring -arrow- and remove the cover of the dipped beam headlight from headlamp housing -1-.
–  Disconnect electrical connector -1- (see -arrow-)
–  Turn the lever-2- counter clockwise -arrow-.
–  Remove gas discharge bulb -3-.
Installation
Installation is carried out in reverse order, noting the following:
–  Insert gas discharge lamp in housing; do not touch glass bulb with bare hands.
–  Turn lever -2- clockwise.
–  Close housing cover.
–  Secure housing cover with retaining spring.
