Lever switch for windscreen wiper/washer, indicators/light switching, Cruise control: removing and fitting
  Caution
The removal and assembly of specific components belonging to the steering column combined control must be carried out in a specific order. → Chapter
  Note
t  The „indicator switch“ consists of the components indicator switch -E2-, the dipped light beam switch and the flasher light -E4- and, depending on the equipment, thecruise control switch -E45- or CCS.
t  For purposes of clarity, the following figure shows the combined switch with CCS switch -E45- removed.
Removing:
–  Disconnect the battery.
–  Remove driver's side airbag module → Bodywork, Interior fitting work; Rep. gr.69
–  Remove steering wheel → Chassis, axles, steering; Rep. gr.48.
–  Remove the steering column trim → Bodywork, interior installation work; Rep. gr.68.
–  Remove steering column electronics control unit -J527-.
–  Remove the airbag spiral spring/retractor ring with collector ring -F138-.
–  Remove steering angle sender -G85- → Chapter:

The following operations are shown with the steering column switch module removed, for better clarity of representation.

–  Remove retaining clips with a thickness gauge of 1.0 mm - Item 1--arrows- and remove left lever switch.
–  Remove retaining clips with a thickness gauge of 1.0 mm - Item 1--arrows- and remove right lever switch.
